Our Story

Rapidly Moving Cell Therapies from Research to the Clinic

NueCell Bio is a California-based company that works with innovators across academic institutions, biotechnology companies, and pharmaceutical companies to advance cell therapies from concept and early research into clinical development. The advanced therapeutics field, including cell therapies, is growing rapidly across the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Korea.

Cell therapies use living cells to treat diseases such as cancer, immune disorders, and tissue damage — offering new options for patients with few alternatives today. NueCell Bio works across a broad range of cell therapy technologies, including CAR-T therapies, stem cells, iPSC-derived therapies, gene-edited cells, and tissue repair platforms, supporting both autologous and allogeneic products and workflows.

Service offerings span program design and feasibility, cell engineering, process design and development, analytical development and testing, cell banking, quality and supply chain management, and technology transfer to GMP manufacturing.

Two Problems. One Focus.

The ability to genetically engineer cells to have the characteristics needed to treat specific diseases is a hallmark of modern cell therapies. Another key challenge in cell therapy development is moving a therapy from successful laboratory research to GMP-compliant manufacturing that consistently delivers cells in the quantities, characteristics, and viability needed for medical intervention. NueCell Bio focuses on both of these critical areas, with cutting-edge capabilities to engineer cells and to develop reliable, consistent, scalable processes suited for clinical manufacturing and future commercialization.

Early design and development decisions can significantly affect a therapy’s success and its manufacturing cost. Product and process design, material selection, analytical methods, and manufacturing workflows all influence regulatory readiness, production efficiency, and overall manufacturing cost. By applying early-stage solutions that reduce product design and manufacturing risks, NueCell Bio helps clients avoid delays during scale-up, tech transfer, and clinical preparation.

A Facility Built for Regulated Work

  • State-of-the-art Facility

NueCell Bio operates a 26,300-square-foot facility in San Diego’s Sorrento Valley life-sciences cluster, with state-of-the-art laboratories for cell engineering, cell therapy development, analytical testing, and bioprocessing. The facility is purpose-built, with a diverse equipment fleet to support multiple client projects concurrently while maintaining the controls, traceability, and documentation expected in regulated environments.

  • Foundation of the business

Quality is built into the foundation of the business: NueCell Bio operates in compliance with ISO 9001 standards and has maintained annual recertification since launch. Every process, document, starting material, and analytical method is designed for transfer to GMP manufacturing and to support future regulatory submissions.

In tandem with scientific work for our clients, NueCell Bio’s scientific leaders actively participate in committees and standards initiatives that are essential to the future of cell therapies.
